Hi there thanks for the welcome. I live in High Wycombe which is a small town 30 miles West of London, England. I love trees and i,m a qualified tree surgeon but have stopped climbing now.

I,m working on a large estate not far from Marlow in Bucks and have come across some limes ( Tilia x europea ) that don,t look at all well. Many of the leaves are curling up and some branches have lost all their leaves. Just wondered if anyone else in the UK had come across this and maybe could offer some advice.

Cheers owlman

I lived a short while in Auckland, north side.

Travelled a bit, fished a bit, loved a place called Opinone up north of Auckland, very nice countryside, very green and lots of big trees. Hamilton was very picturesque too, lovelly place.

Sure is a nice place to see, between Opinone and Russell there were some huge friggin trees, back then it was a real bastid driving across there in a 1.3L 2 door Escort! The road, well track had some serious rocks and I felt a few of them through the floor.

Steve, You are going to an arb school or went to one and you are quoting Shigo but you are taking a job in line clearance topping and removing trees. Is that what you want to do or is that what you are getting stuck doing? (saw this in another thread)

Part of an arb course is chainsaws and felling, drop crotching is what most electrics do these days. Out bush they tend to clear fell anything under HV wires/towers.

Nothing better than having arborists on a ROW crew!
