Thumbs up Re: Welcome .....

Travelling for a few years, only started beginning January. Working my way. First job was pollarding Lime trees which had not been done for fifteen years. The Tilia were approx 100yr old and created a stunning avenue upto an old limestone shrine. Excellent wood to use the Silky on! That was in Northern France. We have now travelled South to the hills near Nimes and are crown thinning Mulberry trees (Morus). These were originally planted to feed there foliage to silk worms! Next stop Holland to work on Quercus and work on a tree nursery. I am from Argyll in Scotland.
Cheers for now.

Hi, new here. My uncle was a treelopper / arbourist depending on the day. Always been a hobby of mine.

I've purchased 30 acres, there was a huge fire through the area 2 years before I bought that has left significant amounts of possible feul. I have quite a good deal of fun cleaning it up. I go on weekend trips and fell dead and diseased trees progressively away from the campsite. To date in 3 years I have killed just two healthy trees in order to accomodate 9 berth sleeping arrrangements in an area of around 350 square meters.

This has enabled me to invite other people out to the "Farm" with chainsaws and we spend a good deal of time getting to know our saws and each other.

I've made a successful career out of closing customers and continue to do so, 99% of what I do is refferal business, most of my sales I learned from my Uncle.

What is it that draws you to trees, like some flamin magnet?

Hi everyone,

So nice to FINALLY find a site where we can all chat and help one another out. This is a great site with some really spectacular trees!

I am a business owner and practising Arborist in Johannesburg South Africa. I have a business called The Works Group we provide many services to our clients from my passion tree care to landscaping and irrigation, just to provide a complete solution to our clients.

Looking forward to chatting and meeting new fellow tree people here!

Good to see you made it here!

If you have any pics of your trees it would be nice to see them. Do you have many trees that are protected, like old trees?

Welcome new guys.
Juliando, great to see arboriculture, irrigation, and landscape working together. Can't tell you how many times a careless irrigation and/or landscape install has ruined one of "my" trees. Good on ya.

So I gave the local Husky dealer a go. He fitted a new oil pump another $212. It (stihl) pumps no oil. any help out there, or does someone need a small (expensive) boat anchor? Alan.
First off inorder for it not to work you either would have to have recieved 2 defective pumps[unlikely but a possibility]or the gear on the cranks has been ground off[once again unlikely but a possibility].Some older saws also had a little piece on the end of the nut that holds the clutch down that powered the oiler. Some pics of the clucth side of the saw with the bar, chain, and clutch cover removed would help so i can identify your problem, also drain the oil tank and spra some carb cleaner through the oil tube that supplies oil to the bar and see if that cleans it out if there is any blockage.Clean the bar groove and entire area around the clutch as well.Hope that helps.
