| I just joined today and this this is a great site I am no arborist, but collect chainsaws and also do some felling for neighbors and cutting for firewood, etc. The reason I joined is involuntary referral by one of the members here - he sort of jumped at us in a chat and sounded very upset about something that happened here, so I had a look and found out... Keep up the good work! ![]() |

| i suspect he will only find a thread called "SMJ hows it going" as this was the idea of the thread to make your name appear in the title as a personalized thread. here is link to caparal30 post that arborjockey has referenced welcome aboard SMJ!! -Daryl

| I guess it's time to post I really enjoy the information. Although not an arborist by trade I work on large buildings sometimes going places that are not easy to access. That's where some of the things picked up from on this site has came in handy. It has got me into trees to hone my rope skills. I also heat with wood so I'm no stranger to a chainsaw. Thanks for the site and dropping my name on the post to draw me out ![]() |

| Welcome noobs and what a community we have, all round the globe. My views on training? Frankly, I'd like to see a registration licencing system in place. Training seems hard to come by frankly, and you'll see that in lots of places. From hands on training with saws and climbing through to tree health and assesment, ID etc. Not easy to find. A lot of the guys here learn from each other, we have quite a lot of pics and videos in those sections. I think as far as memorable video goes check this one out, it's in the post blue link 36mb well worth watching ... so are many of them though but this is different and well shot. Graeme McMahon is the climber. Tahune Day 3........
