Activity is strange isn't it.

You know the ole 80/20 rule dont you. Even on huge forums like AS with some 18,000 members the bulk of the posting is done buy only a few.

I know of many lurkers who just dont write, and the funny part is they PM and email you and others.

Remember those days you sat in class and the teacher said write an essay, 500 words, maybe 2 pages long on your favourite toy? Some people sat there staring at a blank sheet for ages and then wrote something, if anything at all.

Well, to many when they post that's what happens. And for those reading this post you need to overcome that. It's no big deal to write something. In fact the easiest thing you can do is write like you are talking.

I never really had trouble in that English class, my troubles were in the art class and I'd stare at that blank sheet not knowing where to start a painting... but these days digi technology breaks that down too.

So, inactivity is strange, every day LOTS of people log on, I see those numbers, but many are shy or feel that what they want to write about wont interest anyone etc.

How would you know if you dont try? Imagine if Mario Vaden or Guy M decided not to write anymore because no-one posted a response to their posts?

I write blogs and articles too, that's like writing to never never land, but I know it gets read as I check stats.

Members, it's your joint, and it can bring you business in many strange ways, write something and carry your website in your signature.

Okay, here is what I found on the ht75 pole prunner:There was an oiltank replacement and a oil pick up replacement for these units, which to me indicates there was an oiling issue. This would probably be responsible for too tight/too loose problems. Also replaced was the sprocket covers for aided chip removal and a 6 tooth sprocket for better torque.

If you already had these updates then I am stumped!

Mangoes, who ass ya been kicking? Hopefully not mine. I like kicking big companies asses, they got like huge targets painted on them.

Kevlar, I doubt I got those mods installed, I noticed the new pole pruners have a whole new styled head, maybe just fit a whole new head on. I wonder what that'd cost?

Hi guys... I'm a belgian arborist and I run my own business here... I'm allways looking for new climbing techniques and knowledge about trees and everything that has to do with it. I think one cannot know enough about the work he loves and I'm simply eager for knowledge. I'm thinking about moving to australia or new zealand in the next five years but I don't know if that's going to work.
I love your movies on your website, Ekka. Nice instructional videos.

See you guys around on the forum....

High guys, thanks for the kind words.

You can all put your stuff in your signature, however we have a rel=nofollow on all links unless it's lifted.

There's more about advertising here.

Advertising on Tree World

Bandwidth. We get around 10gig of downloads and 7500 visitors a month, around 2500 new visitors a month and growing.

What you have to realize is that links back to your home sites help your site out regardless of anyone seeing your ad, it's part of the way search engines assess sites.

I lived on my (now moored) ship for over 30 years and I loved it, but want to spend the third part of my life in the Algarve, Portugal. We have all facilities here, so we are a floating house now, but the engine is still running. The size is 36 meters long and 6.10 meters wide, more than we will have in Portugal! Living here on the main river in Amsterdam on a boat this size is absolutely marvelous, no neighbours, yet in the centre of the city, own private mooring for the second or third little boat and a flat barge of 16 meters to 4.5 meters as a terrace makes it a unique place to be. Disadvantage: maintenance. There is always a lot of painting to do.

Hi Swanray, Did you ever live in Turkey, you look familure. Did you get to Portugal yet? Great place, please post some more pic's when you can.

Hello To All

I have just finished reading the entire Welcome thread. Seems to be safer to get a feel to what is going on before you say something. (Don't ask me how I know that.) Lots of familiar "faces" from AS. Plenty of new faces to me too. Newguy18 sent me the link to the site, and by the looks of things I am not the only one! Say Ekka, do you have newguy18 on the payroll? You have a pretty nice site here. Took me about 3 cold ones to get to the end of the welcome thread alone. Seriously though, I look forward towards absorbing some of the knowledge expressed here. I do enjoy learning about other cultures and making friends in other parts of the world is pretty cool to me.

Take care.
