Hello To All

I have just finished reading the entire Welcome thread. Seems to be safer to get a feel to what is going on before you say something. (Don't ask me how I know that.) Lots of familiar "faces" from AS. Plenty of new faces to me too. Newguy18 sent me the link to the site, and by the looks of things I am not the only one! Say Ekka, do you have newguy18 on the payroll? You have a pretty nice site here. Took me about 3 cold ones to get to the end of the welcome thread alone. Seriously though, I look forward towards absorbing some of the knowledge expressed here. I do enjoy learning about other cultures and making friends in other parts of the world is pretty cool to me.

Take care.

Hi Ropensaddle, Urbicide.

Treeguy's not on commission, he's on a mission from God.

Reading the whole Welcome thread, wow, that'd take a long while. Nice to see you guys drop in, I mainly hang here and AS a little, I do a few SEO and Web style forums when I need to.

It's into summer here and real hot ... you guys prolly freezing ya azzes off over there. So swapping pics is kinda fun, my kids never seen snow!

hey everybody, how is everyone? I'm the new guy until someone else signs up. Happy to be here, I've read some of the recent posts. You seem like my kind of people.
So somthing I was thinking about... school and books aren't enough to perfect a practicing arborist. I own a tree care company, but i want to learn more than just what the trees tell me. Although they say alot.
I NEED A MENTOR, i think? God knows professors can't relate to us folks in the field(no offense). I want to hang out with some dude that can answer all of my questions about arboriculture, and they are never ending...

sincerely nico demo.

P.S. Detective Dendro! are you out there?

Denro's out there alright ...

Take lots of pics ... ask lots of questions, that's the best way to practically learn.

Welcome aboard.

Hi Ekka and everyone else here.

I found this site through a link and am so glad I did. I spent the last several days snooping around and you have managed to provide a monstrous amount of helpful information that is very easy to access. Thank you.

Nico Demo, regarding the desire for a mentor. Keep at it. I have mentored many climbers and because it takes so many years to become proficient in this dangerous profession, I wished mentoring was part of the game plan. It can definitely save you some heart aches, not to mention bruises, stitches, gashes, money out of pocket...gray hair.

Good luck with that. I'm just glad to be here, or to have found here.

I wish I had a mentor when I did my first tree [shortley before I found tree forums].I would have saved me a lot of grief, close calls and of course gray hairs and chest pains.

I can't claim the grey hair part, but certainly bruises, gashes, blood, wasted-time....

Wait.. isn't that part of the learning process?

Wife of D Mc here...

Actually, David told me when I first started working with him (over 20 years ago) that you can't mind the bumps, bruises and slow bleeding wounds; they just go with the job. Yep, no sympathy and still married. But what a GREAT job!
