Welcome all

We have some great people on this site, all with the common goal of caring for trees and working on them.

I enjoy seeing trees and tree work from other countries, so dont be shy showing what you get up to.

For those who are qualified we have a hidden area where more sensative issues and chat amongst fellow arborists can occur without the general public or bots viewing it, sort of our recluse. There are some requirements, get your post count up so we get to know you and what you are all about. Perhaps showcase some of your jobs etc.

Enjoy, and I look forward to reading you.

G'Day all,

I'm an independant, part time tree guy.
Have been climbing for 24 yrs,
Love the work, almost wanted to quit my other job.
Can't be doing that though.
I take vacation so I can cut/trim tree's.
The wife thinks I'm sick.
Really enjoy the site.
Thanks,
Mike.

Hello everyone, I'm new, I live in Toronto, and I'm rather young (only 20)... just an inspiring newcomer who's taken an interest in arboriculture.

Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome, Ekka. I'd like to say that you have a wonderful site here.

For now, I'll stick to caring for my own trees; there's plenty of work to go around here. I looked at a course in Urban Arboriculture at Humber College and for some reason they require you to be strong in math, which I'm not, so I don't know if I would get in. Got a few other things I need to do anyway, so at most for now it's just an interest/hobby.

Cheers, wishing you all the best.

I could only see them wanting some math for the rope force calculations, no big deal really, if you know how much change to get from your grocery bill then you'll be OK.

Dont forget the ISA have cert arb over there, you buy a study guide, then sit a test.

Maybe take some pics out your way, see what it's like.

I got a dead gum tree to climb/cut today, errr, hate dead trees!

Thanks for the welcome. At the age of 76 I am still trying to catch up to what is new and useful in fixing up this planet. The desert is approaching fast and I have been planting an oasis before it reaches here. Looking forward to seeing your collective experiences.

A warm welcome for you traveller.

I'd really like to see pics if you can of your area, not many on here from Africa!

The desert is approaching and encroaching in Australia to, and the removal of native bush continues.

Seems people think that wildlife only exists in parks and zoos and not the "real world" anymore. They step out of their airconditioned home into their airconditioned car, drive to the airconditioned office, 90% do not work physically and get paid a fortune for lip or keyboard service and then go home in a reverse procedure wondering what is wrong with all the "greenies" saying the planet is in bad shape.

About the only perspective they have is what they watch on TV.

Keep planting, drought tolerant natives are the go here.
