Woman's skull fractured watching tree loppers - Queensland - BrisbaneTimes
Quote:
October 10, 2008

A Toowoomba woman was watching tree loppers work in the garden of her home yesterday when she was struck by a falling branch and seriously injured.

Ambulance paramedics were called to the Highfields home about 1.20pm and rushed the 36-year-old woman to Toowoomba Base Hospital with a fractured skull.

Police said the woman was watching professional tree removalists working in her yard when the accident occurred.

She was last night transferred to Royal Brisbane Hospital for further treatment and remains in a serious condition.

Workplace Health and Safety inspectors are investigating.

Wtf,who lets a client watch them work while they're in striking distance of the work,i tell the client, watch from inside the house,or in the neighbors yard.
the only people allowed under the tree are groundies and only if they're holding rigging,or cleaning up so i can make another mess.

That's TERRIBLE!!!

I hate to agree with NG (), but the HO should never be allowed near the work-zone, especially underneath it!

Hope she's alright....

Much worse happened to a local company a few years back. Apparantly there was a rather distraught woman next door. For some unknown to me reason, she ran into the kill zone..before the crew could stop her. She was killed.

Thinking back, this could happen to any of us who don't completely flag off the work area...which I've almost never done.
