I have a swamp paperbark tree causing havoc in my property and is a danger to myself and to my family members. I have been told I would not be allowed to chop it down as it is a protected species. Is this true?

Ring the local council, give them your address and ask if there's a Vegetation Protection Order on the property. Who told you that anyway?
