Contrary to public perception this developer is going beyond their call. Not even their land but they are helping.
I have lived nearby for 20 years and didn't know of these endangered trees.

Urgent research for rare trees at Ormeau
October 26th, 2011
A RARE bottle tree found only at Ormeau is under threat but urgent research is being conducted to try and save the species. Stockland has contributed $20,000 to a research program to learn more about the endangered bottle trees at Ormeau.
About 200 bottle trees have been found including one 35m tall and estimated to be up to 200 years old.
Ormeau Ridge deveoper Stockland has shelled out $20,000 for a research program to learn more about the endangered trees with the hope of increasing their numbers.
The program is being conducted by the University of the Sunshine Coast in collaboration with the Queensland Herbarium and is expected to take about six months.
Each of the 222 Ormeau bottle trees has been GPS mapped to help with the research.
Stockland senior development manager Stephen Webster said there were no Ormeau Bottle Trees on their nearby Ormeau Ridge development site, but they wanted to help.
"We were keen to support this much-needed research into the future conservation of an endangered species unique to Ormeau," Mr Webster said.
"We may even look at planting some of the new trees in Ormeau Ridge if that is a possibility."
Greening Australia's Robbie Kristenson said the Stockland revegetation program had a significant focus on endangered ecological communities.
"This land was originally cleared for grazing and it is great to be working on restoring its native vegetation," Mr Kristenson said.
"We would like to include the Ormeau Bottle Tree in our revegetation work and it is good to see someone supporting the much-needed research."
