How's this working?

Isn't Arborcamp a QAA thing? If so wouldn't it be an extensin or file of their site.

Arbor Camp continues to get even better!

This is a testament to the work that has been put into the event. As this is only our third year of association with the event, we would like to much say thanks to Simon and the QAA staff!

Ekka, will organise to get the video off off you at some stage.

The staff are always looking for feedback as to how to continually make the show better.

Along those lines, we have asked for an additional demo time in the morning, this will allow equipment demonstrations in both the morning and the afternoon. In addition, the suggestion that if a company is demonstrating, that they provide specific "demo" equipment that stays in the demo area.

Here are some picks of the stall we had. People who are around are watching a demonstration of how to make habitat trees using camphur laurel that was on back of crane truck

Default Habitat Boxes

Interesting session.

Find a knob on the tree that you can cut off to use as a top plate. This guy whacks a nail in it before making the final cut so it doesn't fall, then you can just nail it elsewhere till you are ready to put it over the cavity you make.

Plunge cut a bunch of slots.

Break the slots out

Now you have your cavity

Nail the lid on, aluminium or stainless nails (no rusting).

Drill the entry hole the preferable size for target species.

Wella, one natural looking nesting box! The guy mentioned they measue how far up it is etc and tag them. For tagging they put the tag on the end of a nail and have the nail sticking out a bit so as the tree grows the tag is still visible.

Neither did I, all my pics are from a 40 minute video I shot. My software allows me to take a still pic, pretty handy really although the quality isn't the best I can go frame by frame and get the best shot, at around 30 frames per second it does get interesting.

I'm assuming the tree was dead.I'm pretty sure that was just a section of trunk also.

Sounds like fascism or censorship to me. Seems their primary motive is money then control.
Unbelievable that they want to supress your video. If they wanted no videos taken during the event it should have been stated on the entry conditions like you see at music concerts!

Our country is still free, free to take pictures, videos, and to show them publicly. There is a suspicious smell coming from
QLD.

I would suggest if I may, Organisations need to be clear and transparent in their motives. I have been on comittee's and the more members you have on a comittee the harder to anyone to agree about anything...usually one fat a/// has all the say or thinks he or she has.
So it goes round in circles..So if I may once more keep your comittee streamlined so you stay dynamic and not stagnate.

People be up front when on money making venture people understand you need money to survive, they dont like underhand activities cloaked by ulterior motives whether they be for good intentions or not.

I feel Ekka owns the rights to his videos so its up to him if he makes them public.

from me i appoligise for him saying that and he did not represent the arbor camp committee when saying that.

new guy,
Scott hind was the guy who did habitat talk, he used to do it in usa creating bird box's in very large red's . He also did some habitat creation using exposives for owls( Of which i have video ,one day when i learn how to putit on the computur i will post it for all to see). he currently lives in SA . He will be at the vic camp in late march next year if would like to see him.
the reason this is better than bird box's is the results birds for one reason or another will more readly use this type of box over the others. we have done several now and got great results.(only on dead barrells).
he had his poll belt for show only a foot of the ground doing this talk on a canfer stump.
cheers
simon

It's too late, I was so pissed I stopped taking video, left early and taped over what I got. I lost interest from that moment forward and couldn't even be bothered taping anything like the axe throwing etc.

But it does show the mentality or the idiots that exist. I feel I come along, a full six pack and continually bang heads with a 3 bottles missing road blocks.

Also, for the record Simon, I dont lie!
