Palm Tree's next to retaining wall

I'm getting ready to have a new retaining wall built between my house and my neighbors, and was told i need to remove the existing palm Tree's that will be to close to the new wall. Can someone give me some advice?

You'll find no builder would like to guarantee the wall with the palms there.

Beside root pressure on the wall you also have a large mast which the wind can sway, adding soil pressure and working away over time.

Sure, they can build a stronger wall so it's bomb proof but in reality not so wise to have tall palms so close to the wall face. Stability and anchorage for the palm is also a worry.
