Default New Rainforest Skywalk Open Gold Coast

High hopes for Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk | The Courier-Mail

Quote:
Gold Coast Tourism spokesman Ben Pole said the skywalk would attract large numbers of overseas visitors. "The key thing is ... it's a 30-40 minute drive from the beach to a pristine rainforest environment," he said.
Here's the website.
Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk

It does cost though.

Quote:
Admission Prices:
Adults (17 Years & over) $18.50
Children (6-16 Years) $9.50
Family (2 Adults + 2 Children) $47.00
Extra Children in Family $5.00 per child

Children (16 Years & under) must be accompanied by an adult.
For those who don't have the money to do that walk dont forget not that far away is O'Reilly's Tree Top Walk for free and a large ladder that goes 30m up a fig tree to the top.

Well I guess I'll be saving my dollars for a visit to the walkway in the next couple of weeks....btw although the O'Reilly's walk is free there are collection tins at both ends for contributions, hopefully some of us make a donation of whatever we can afford at the time.

Well after a tip off about the trees in the carpark I had to go see today. For me this is an easy 1/2hour run.

I was gob smacked that I saw what I did. I imagine there was DA approval by council to do this. The trees are flooded gums which have a sock for the bottom 1m to 2m of trunk ... the carpark is compacted crusher dust. Maybe I am missing something, maybe they have Silvacells underneath?
