| Hi Guys (and Gals)! Im pretty new to TreeWorld as a resource, but ekka is sure that an anouncement here will help me and who am I to disagree?!? Im greatly looking forward to vsiting and working in Brisbane for 6 months starting in August of this year. Im right at the beggining of my research and organising and would greatly appreciate any comments, advise or suggestions! I hold NPTC qualifications: CS30 Maintain and Operate the Chain Saw CS31 Fell Small Trees CS32 Fell Medium Sized Trees CS39 Use a chainsaw from a rope & harness CS47 Use of Chainsaw from a MEWP I also hold: Royal Forestry Society Cetificate in Arboriculture And am presently studying towards the: Arboricultural Assossiation Technicians Certificate I am aware of AS4373, is there any other relevent standards or basic principles of law that I should make myself aware of before I arrive? Some idea of how much I might earn per week/month would ne useful. AND OBVIOUSLY If any one thinks that they may have a position available that I might suit, GREAT! Thanks in advance for any feed back! |

| Hartley, what is your climbing and rigging speed and skills like? Also, drivers licence, we drive same side of the road so this one is easy ... you have car licence? Means you could drive equipment around etc and if any bosses out there wonder about getting around just buy a Navman or similar.

| I have a full, clean drivers licence from 1993 which allows me to drive a 7.5 ton vehicle with a 0.75 ton trailer in the UK! My rigging experience is extensive, if there is ever a problem/complex tree here I am always envolved in it, even if I dont climb myself im expected to be on hand for consultation. Im not saying that im perfect but its always handy for climbers to bounce ideas off each other! .............just a question, how come this thread does not appear on "NEW POSTS"? I am not entirely(some would say remotley)computer literate!?!? |

| Once you've read it or posted it, it's no longer new to you but will be for others.... till they either view it or a week passes.

| Hartley, unfortunately, although you're UK drivers licence allows you to drive a 7.5 tonner, this will not transfer over to you're Aus licence if you decide to get one. However, you can use your UK licence here for up to 1 year, so if you are only staying for a short while that may be the way to go. |
