No, I wasn't referring to the airspade, just wondered if you used it. Just recalled talking with you, I thought, about an uprooting or overgrown tree next to a pond on another, less relevant site. Let us know about your airspade experience on that thread

Yep, there are two kinds. The supersonic air knife and the air spade. I think the air knife is a little cheaper. The say that both of these are pretty much equal in what they can do.

As I understand the difference comes down to the nozzles, thats where the improvement in performance is supposed to happen....we have a home made job so I can't really comment on the supersonic version. I would however suspect that there would be a difference but not as great as the advertisement would have you believe.

Sean,

Maybe you could start a thread going into a little more detail on your home-made air spade? I think it'd be pretty interesting to learn more about.

I can't find that, but that would be him, he does take a lot of pics. He has posted some good ones here, as well as some other forums. Like I said he really gets around.

Arboreal Terror found the site but I can't remember how exactly... maybe a link from a US arbor site we had been posting on.....

Great forum imho. I talk about this place with customers, other arborists and tree related trades people. Information is so important when you work in such a broad field. I have discovered just how little I really know and how far I could go with a little extra effort.

I used to be a Member over at AS, until I got Banned . Other Members gave me links to other Web Sites that I joinned, but I didn't feel at home like I was at AS,
I was on a Forum, on another Web Site, looking around and I found a Link to this Fabulous Web Site. I looked at it, and I have Joined. This Web Site is a lot BETTER than AS Will Ever Be, or Dream of Being.
Since I've Joined, I've had a lot of , and been ever Since. At times my Wife To Be is , with me, because she thinks I spend to time on the Computer, and not enough time with her. I show her all the time, what I'm doing on the Computer, and that I'm not running around on her, and then she isn't so with me.
I have learned a lot of Stuff here since I hav joined, and I have a lot of experiance as well that I can share aswell, as the Other Members here.
Hats to Ekka, that Built this OUTSTANDING WEBSITE, and No I'm Not one of these , , but I really Enjoy myself, and I really feel at home here . Bruce.

A whole lotta going on around here.

Thanks mate, it's hard to juggle all the things people desire out of a website, to be informative but not a nerd is important.

I was googling for info on the 346XP NE and Tree World popped up.
I chatted with with you Ekka last summer on AS, on one of Thall's stupid rant threads. Tommie and I are getting along good now though, the man is definately a good loyal Stihl man.
I was banned from AS last month for lowering myself to the level of a couple of members who had it out for me.
You have an excellent site here Ekka. I invited Parrisw and Plantbiologist [AS members] to this site this morning, they have a wealth of information. Keep up the good work!
Willard.

Hey Willard.
Getting Banned from AS, well that is Really No Big Loss. I was Banned from there, Last Fall, after I walked into a Local Small Engine Repair Shop, and Posted a Thread, I Fell Into Chain Saw Heaven. Once I posted about what I had found, a lot of AS Members, asked me if I could try and pick up the Odd Chain Saw for them, and I said, sure. I posted Pictures , of what I had found, Part Two. I posted another Thread, Part Three, and then I was Accused of Selling Chain Saws, without Being a Sponsor, when all I was doing, was picking up a Saw for Someone Else, they would send me the Money, I'd give it to the Owner of the Shop, who Happens to be Old Order Mennonite, which the only High Tech that they have is a Phone/Fax Machine, and I would Ship the Chain Saws to the Person that Requested the Chain Saw. Oh Yeah. These Chain Saws, were all Non Runners. AS Cut the Throats of the Guys, that Sponsored that Joke of a Web Site, in Sales of Parts, for Chain Saws, that some one wanted to Fix Up, them selves.
Well that is enough of my Rant. Glad that all you New Members made it to a Better Web Site, Enjoy your Selves here, I sure have. . Bruce.

Bruce months back I was wondering what happened to you. I kind of figured it was over saw dealing, you being a collecter . I never saw a mean streak in you like alot of other AS members have which gets everyone there riled up. I sure don't miss the site.

I riled a few up there recently ... the topic of guns does it every time.

However in a recent thread about guns I asked a question ... "I wonder how much improved the USA statistics would be if you just banned blacks having guns?"

Well, in no time I'm a racist moron KKK member.

Whilst the black crime statistics go through the roof (Washington DC one of the worst) .... Bill Crosby has been making special visits and trying to get the message through.

One of my favorite AS members is SawTroll [Niko] from Troms, Norway. I see he has about 300 posts on Tree World, he has over 20,000 on AS!! The man is a wealth of information. The day I was banned Feb 22 his wife [Saw Witch] died. Alot of wonderful support came from the AS members to SawTroll. I had to view the site from our local library computer because I can't get onto the site from my own.
You have to be careful what you say on AS and don't step on the toes of their active member sponsors who sell and trade or do saw mods. Good way to get banned as I found out.

Yes there is some major gun problems in the US [south of our border]. Our Canadian government tried to introduce gun control laws here , the program cost 4 billion dollars and we still don't have a law.
You are right Ekka its not the guns but the ones using them............
