I'm guessing I was the only fool to answer approve! As much as I would rather see a video that showed how to select an arborist to prunes your trees, I am realist enough to understand that some people will DIY no matter what. My wifes parents are exactly those sorts of people. In fact, if you are a Maco, its almost against your religion to pay a tradesman for anything! Given that to be the case, the presentation did adhere reasonably close to the standards for pruning. I liked the mention of cutting the weight off a limb and then applying a finishing cut. Likewise I recommend that fruit trees be pruned in Winter to allow time for bud nodes to become active before Spring growth. It looks to me that whoever made the video was being as careful as possible to avoid areas where public liability could be involved. Note there were no references to how you would prune a tree taller than the reach of your tools? I didnt like the lack of detail in how to choose exactly where the branch collar is either. All in all, I have seen much worse, like the "village idiot" that Ekka referred to. |

I'm sorry, but I thought that I was approving to see Videos of How Not to do a Job. That was my Understanding. Other wise I would have never Approved, I would have Disapproved. Nobody in his Right Frame of Mind, would Approve of Work being done like this. I know that I sure as heck wouldn't Approve of it. Bruce.
