A good find Eric, and a great read... lovely bloke Mr D Lonsdale, was fortunate enough to spend time in his company after the ISAAC conference whilst we wisked them around some of the better significant trees around the Gold Coast. The real "eccentric professor" with a wealth of knowledge and understanding, and very willing to share ideas with others...really nice guy. |

| I think you are right. ![]() Just spent 3 days looking at oaks that are 250+ years old with this Sternberg chap, who wrote this excellent text: https://secure.isa-arbor.com/store/N...es-P227C0.aspx very Significant Trees. So blown away by a 270+ yr old old bur oak that in a blissed-out moment of weakness I offered to prune it for free. ![]() Before that spent an afternoon at Harvard U's arboretum, a crazy collection, with Dunster; will post pics when I get back. Now my battery is full again so it's back out to vid the trees in Forest Park in St. Louis MO, then downtown to see the Cardinals play the Cubs. |
