Is the book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas familiar to anyone in Australia?

I saw the movie too!
A real bluddy laugh , especially after a couple of chokes!
Liked it that much I went out and bought it.

There is another movie about Hunter Thompson that was releaced about 1978 called "Where the Buffalo Roam". Great movie, Hunters attack dogs trained to attack anyone saying the word Nixon.... Check-it-out!

Epic film.

"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. " (spoken by Raoul Duke about Dr. Gonzo)

Raoul Duke: I want you to understand that this man at the wheel is my attorney. He's not just some dingbat I found on the strip, man. He's a foreigner. I think he's probably Samoan. But that doesn't matter, though, does it? Are you prejudiced?
Hitchhiker: Hell no.
Raoul Duke: I didn't think so. Because in spite of his race, this man is very valuable to me. Oh, shit. I forgot about the beer. You want one?
Hitchhiker: No.
Raoul Duke: How 'bout some ether?
Hitchhiker: What?
Raoul Duke: Never mind.

Let's not forget that this was the Hollywood portrayal of Mr. Thompson. Yes he was a very talanted writer, but the over shadow of drugs took it's toll in the end.
Hunter Thompson just needed to learn how to use a chainsaw and buzz wood instead of his brain. Now if he were alive today, I'd bet money that he wood be a Jonsered man!
