Default Blocking of Photo Bucket????

I tried to post 3 pics for a guy here using old pics from photo bucket that were already on hand. For some reason this place is blocking photo bucket now when I used to use PB all the time. If that's the way it is now let me know.

You get this when posting a link http://i59.???????????.com/albums/g289/hognose.jpg

Unfortunately we have out of necessity blocked all off TW server picture hosting, it has always been one of our rules here on Treeworld. We have started enforcing this rule for the sake of good threads with out gaping holes in them.

Quote:
Rule 3.1:- Image hosting is to be on TreeWorld for the sake of preservation. The disappearance of images could ruin threads and posts over time plus it's easy to upload them. Be aware of image sizes, generally anything over 750px wide and 100kb in size will pose a problem for many users on slow connections or small screen resolutions. If images linked from other sources appear on the forums Tree World has the rights to copy and load the image to it's own server.

For example,

Hi members of treeworld,

I have a bla tree with large blotches on its leaves, what could be causing this problem? below is picture I took yesterday for you all to see

You can clearly see my problem, looking froward to some answers to this baffling problem.

Thank you
Joe Citizen

So you can apreciate the need to block all other forms of picture storage other than Treeworlds own server.

It is not hard to upload our server...your co-operation in this matter will be apreciated

Just caught me off guard is all. Was on vacation for awhile and went to show someone some quick pic links today.

Thanks for the explanation.

As far as hosting on Treeworld, video's no, pictures yes.

To link to a video where the URL is word banned this is how to get around it.

By using Tinyurl you remove the words that get banned and the link still exists.

Whilst there is also the possibility of say PB videos going missing just like pictures there's nowhere near as many videos posted as pictures. The statistical loss is way less and also the likelihood of some-one going to the trouble of making a video and loading it to say PB then deleting it is a lot lower.

At this stage Youtube only has videos so we certainly have no issues with it.
