Default Banner Comp $100 up for grabs.

Yep, that's no BS.

Go to work and build something .... suitable, then we'll look at them all and have a vote on which is best. The winner scores $100 (Aussie)

Now, just some rules on the banner.

1. Width 750px

2. Must be gif or jpg (no flash)

3. And preferably low file size ... under 100kb would be good.

Hopefully it has the sites name on it and goes with the theme. Oh, all submissions for go their right to copyright, for obvious reasons.

Well, we have had an anonymous entrant who submitted 3 banners and I chose this one ... I tinted it blue to match the board and I like it.

How about you guys?

I like the first blue one the best.

Don't get me wrong but the rest are good however .... sort of "expected", I like the imaginative ones.

With the blue one the only neg I got is it's height. Is it possible to lose the url and narrow it up a bit? About 160px high is a good fit.

Don't know how you made it so let me know if it's too much trouble.

We need some opinions here, I like the blues and the earthy look of this site, a good contrast yet easy on the eye and not the typical green you'd expect or the drab blue out of the box Vbulletin comes in.

Here's my botch up of it, and this one is down to 31kb which means fast to load up for visitors.

Krowdon

I don't know how you do it but you do it well.

Attached is a picture of the top part of a gum, you may be able to use that instead .... just have to get rid of the ropes.

I left it big so you got room to do stuff if you decide to use it.

It was the only one I had against a clear background.

I just resized it, and actually it doesn't look too bad as the fonts didn't get too squashed in the process. It's now 750x160.

The background I orginally created in Bryce 3D, then I exported it into PhotoShop and added the lightning, lens flare and text. I then overlayed a couple copy's of the tree itself as well as a blue-gradient transparent layer.

Here's something similar, using the photo you provided, with the rope erased of course...

Sorry Krowdon, that tree you picked has been hacked. lol

But I think that ghost gum Jason's picked is a beauty.

Any chance of making just one more like the one you did forgetting the URL?
