Default Tree cutting home owner injuries

Yet again i hear of a case of price too much to pay so HO does it themselves.
My other half is an ICU nurse and was telling me about a person that got a quote from a proffessional company but thought it was too expensive.
Well the ICU bit kind of gives away the ending but they fell from the tree 12 ish meters,

Essentially they now have, two collapsed virtibrae, two broken neck of femurs, several broken ribs, fractured skull and a broken arm as well as major internal injuries peeing in a bag for the rest of their life.

when oh when will these people learn that this is a dangerous profession and cant be taken lightly, we train hard to do this job safely and sometimes even we get it wrong and we spend 8-10 hours a day five to six days a week doing it.

we make it look easy at times because we are good at what we do, i thought the trapeze looked easy when i went to the circus but i know for a fact that it takes years of dedication and training to do what those guys and girls do, WOULD YOU JUST JUMP ON A TRAPEZE AND EXPECT TO DO IT STRAIGHT AWAY? nope thought not! so why climb a tree with one hand and two feet, a running chainsaw in the other swinging it around like a wand, then be surprised when you either fall or cut your arm off.

ok im off my soap box now

What a shocker.

Where I used to take my kids for swimming lessons, lady wanted trees trimmed, gave her a price.... never heard back.

Few weeks later I brought the topic up again, oh her hubby went to do it, fell from the ladder and smashed his heel bone, 3 months off work.

This type of stuff is common.

I've almost given up on offering things for half price or whatever to people I know. The cheaper the price, the more the want for it. They don't respect your work...
