A man has been taken to hospital in Queensland after his hand became stuck in a wood-chipping machine.
The 55-year-old was working with the machine in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast when his hand was caught in the device.
He also sustained a serious neck injury as he struggled to free his hand from the machine, an ambulance spokesman told ninemsn.
Other reports said the neck injury was caused by a projectile which shot out of the machine and struck him.
The man was conscious when he was taken to Nambour General Hospital, and is believed to be in a stable condition.

A SUNSHINE Coast man received serious injuries to his hand in a chainsaw accident yesterday.
The 52-year-old employee of Steve Smith Tree Felling and Tree Removal was tending to foliage on a private property on Lindsay Road at Buderim when the incident occurred.
The Queensland Ambulance Service was called to the scene about 9am.
“In addition to serious hand injuries, the man also received lacerations to the neck,” a QAS spokesman said.
“He was taken to Nambour hospital in a stable condition.”
The man was conscious and alert when paramedics arrived.
It was initially reported by QAS that his hand was stuck in a wood chipping machine.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland officers will investigate the incident. This is standard practice.
Representatives from Steve Smith Tree Felling and Tree Removal declined to comment.
Their website states they have had 25 years experience in the industry.
