Sadly this Dr paid a high price for the sake a few dollars saved

A Shelby doctor was killed Saturday evening when a tree he was cutting fell and struck him, according to authorities.


Mike Miller, 68, was working at his home on North Lafayette Street in Cleveland County when the accident happened, according to Observer news partner WCNC-TV.

Miller was a founding member of the Shelby Family Practice. He had worked in Shelby for his entire career. His family declined to comment on Sunday.


Dan Sweat, a friend of Miller, told WCNC the loss would be felt all throughout the community.

“Dr. Miller is irreplaceable,” Sweat said. “He was an extraordinary person, he was an extraordinary physician, and he touched the lives of the entire community.”

That is sad, but some guy actually wrote this on their website ....

Let this be a reminder to us all about the hazards of tree work. This doctor was well respected and no idiot that is for sure.
