A man is in Waikato Hospital after falling while pruning trees at the weekend. Hospital spokeswoman Mary Anne Gill says he received serious injuries after falling more than 10 metres.

She says he's a 29 year old Rotorua tree pruner, and is in a serious condition in the hospital's ICU. The man was apparently also struck by a branch he had cut.

hmm...you do wonder when you consider what is available nowadays. But then again, people have many reasons for what they do, how they do it and what equipment they use and sometimes safety, sadly, is not where it should be, that is at the top of the list of priorities.
