The quote reported is incorrect. William was trimming a palm tree with a hand saw. The branch hit an exposed area of the power line. The home owner called him to do the job after calling the electric company and getting the "ok" to have the tree trimmed. He was not married, and did not have a brother in law. He was a hard worker. |

Pattie, grit your teeth but there's stringent rules about proximity to power. Regardless of what the home-owner "alleges". This situation was totally avoidable and sadly due to economic pressures, pride, ignorance, machoism and even ego's the ultimate price has been paid. And that price was not just William's life but the ravine left in many hearts for years. We endeavour to inform as many people as we can here, we try our best, even the home-owners have to realize that it's "just money" when they whine about doing things properly and taking cheap ways out. If you look through this forum you'll often see many examples of avoidable casualties and property damages, often one of those evils I mentioned above fuelled it. Being a professional also means knowing when to walk away, and if the customer thinks you're a drama queen or chicken just refer him to this thread.
