Hi, Can anyone help identify these two trees for me please? Location is Surrey, England. The first one has small leaves 3-6cm long, with sort of ruffled-looking edges. Each leaf is individual, and the leaves grow alternately, not opposite each other. It currently has very small green fruit, about 15mm diameter, which have a kind of shell or peel, with 3 or 4 large sticky black seeds inside. My neighbour thinks it's a lime tree, but this doesn't look like any of the lime photos on the net. The fruit does smell citrusy when I open it though. The photos show the fruit opened. ![]() ![]() The second tree might be more difficult, as I couldn't reach to get a good cutting. I do know that it has yellow flowers in late spring, and I've attached a photo that shows the flowers from a distance. Could it be a Laburnum? ![]() ![]() Thanks in advance for any help you can give. First tree looks like a Pittosporum tenuifolium. Second tree is a Laburnum alpinum.
