Hi. I have several trees on my property which I am having trouble identifying. I think they may be "Tree of Heaven" trees. Is anyone able to confirm this? I can provide other photos if these aren't adequate. ![]() |

Need a clear picture of the leaves - a compound leaf - laid flat, arrangement on the stem, and a closeup of the stem's bark. Of what I can see, the leaflets' edges appear to be serrated, and that is not Tree-of-Heaven. Tree-of-Heaven leaflets are entire (smooth) except for a single tooth at the bottom of the leaf on one side, that also contains a visible gland.

I'm sorry I have taken so long to reply. I had some tree stumps removed near my house at the end of June and the excavator when through an electrical cable which consequently fried my computer. Thankfully I am now finally back online. Here are some close-up photos of the leaves and stem which I hope will better aid in solving identification. ![]() ![]() |

Rach Can you see any old fruits under the trees? and how tall are the bigger specimens? I am not familiar with the "tree of heaven" as it grows wild in SE Qld. We have a similar native tree here in CQ called White Siris (Ailanthus triphysa) but it doesn't have toothed margins (edges) to the leaflets. Your tree looks +/- similar to foambark (Jagera pseudorhus) but your trees seem to have a different bark to our local foambark trees. Not sure that I have really helped you any further. RM |

The bark looks pretty much right for a foambark tree around these parts, so does the form. I reckon it is one.

Thanks RM and Eric, I have done a google image search and it is definitely a foambark tree. It's been driving me nuts trying to identify this tree. Thank-you again so much. |
