Hi, I am hoping you can help me identify this tree: it has medium sized glossy green leaves, similar shape to a ficus lyrata, the flowers are white and fragrant. The tree looks similar to an hymenosporum flavum, but the leaves are more rounded on the end and the flowers have one stigma with no stamens and the flower base has a cap shape cream calyx with no individual green sepals. The trees I have seen growing in Brisbane, Australia(subtropical climate) have a single trunk, rounded habit up to 4 or 5 metres tall. The one pictured has been trimmed to shape. I would appreciate any help to identify the tree - thanks! |

have you considered one of the Canthium's or Everestia I think is the new genus. (Sorry if I'm 20 years out of date with name changes) maybe Canthium lamprophyllum. |
