Default Tree to ID in Sydney

Hello

I'd appreciate any assistance in identifying this tree that is growing in the front garden of my house in Sydney.

It's about 6m tall and has fruit on it that sort of looks like mulberries, but they never turn into fruit, just go hard and woody.

The tree interferes with the power lines and creates too much shade for anything else to grow in the garden so I'd like to arrange to have it chopped down and replaced with something more suitable.

Thanks

That's another tree nurseries were flogging here some years back. Lots of roots.

Sold here as "Evergreen Alder", do a Google search for that and you'll find all you need. My computer isn't working too good tonight.

It was helping last night.

If I go over 12GB a month it slows down. First time I've done that, it's like going back to dial up.

Evergreen alder (Alnus acuminata)
Also known as A. jorullensis, these trees are not suitable for small backyards as they grow to a massive size. The roots will break pipes, jack up fences and cause paving to buckle. The canopy quickly spreads across a small yard, blocking the light, while the roots use up all available soil space.
