Smile Tree ID - Melbourne.

Wondering if someone can ID any or all of these palms for me.
I have several of them of differing sizes.

Do they transplant well?
What are they worth if I wish to get more

Thanks
Bruce.

What you have there is cocos palm, and either a bangalow or alexandra palm.

Pictures 1,2,3 are cocus palms which are weeds pic 4 are bangalow palms i think or Alex hard to see exactly. as for transplanting, cocus palms as mentioned are generally classed as weeds and transplanting the bangalow/alex palms can be expensive you can buy new palms relatively cheaply.

Cheers Mr.
Do they transplant well at all??

Ideas what the larger example would be worth? And the smaller ones?

That area is soon going to be a shed.

Thanks again.

price wise you would really struggle to get someone that would buy the cocus palm

Is the cost of transplanting these palm worth the effort, or is it more economical just to replant new ones? Theres a lot of preparation work in transplanting any mature palm or tree, you have consider access for you lifting equipment or can a crane reach over your house and lift these out or onto a low loader, The cost of transplanting is already becoming expensive considering these are just a couple of considerations you have assess.

So you see transplanting is said easy enought but actually doing is a lot of hard expensive work. good question regarding their value..hmm..probably what ever the customer is willing to pay plus your cost as briefly mentioned above. They seem to transplant well from my observations if done properly.
