Good Morning All! We just moved to this home and I am trying to ID these lovely mature oaks. They are not ill, I'd just like to know what they are. Here is a general view (they are covered in asian jasmine that has to go!) ![]() Close up of the bark ![]() Close up of the leaves ![]() I believe I have it narrowed down to Post Oak, Blackjack Oak or Durand Oak based on the leaf shape. Thanks so much for reading this message |

Nice pics, interesting to see no nail polish! Anyway, I'm no oak expert, in fact wouldn't know one form the other but just thought I'd say ...

Thanks for the confirmation JayD! At least now I know to watch for signs of oak wilt!Ekka, I'm a gardener and the nail polish always looks bad after an hour in the yard |

Good Day PK, The oak in question is Postoak, black jack oak barely has three lobes on the end of a leaf and the bark is rougher. As for Durand oak, I am not familiar with this species. Hope this helps you out. Knothead56 |
