Question No idea - help req'd

Could be a fruit tree, not sure. It is not Brisbane Chinese Elm either.

This is all I could get a shot of as it was crowded at this location, no real canopy shots.

Guessing it may be a persian iron wood...only a guess?

Where's Jules when you need her ? with such a distinctive leaf somebody is bound to know...I think it's a type of fruit tree ?

I guess you have the specimen at home Can you post pic of the under side of the leaves

didn't see any fruit?

I am thinking Cryptocarya and would be looking for hairy domatia under the lvs the fruit are out of season but they may remain on the ground in dried form, eaten by weevils grubs etc

We used to collect the seed of these for re-vegetation

it is a vineforest species smallish tree the 'scrubwood' bark in your photo fits for me.
