Default Need help with ID of bush - please

I have the following bush growing in my Southern California - high desert yard. I believe it may have grown from a seed bought back from the South Coast areas of NSW, Australia. it is thriving in poor "white rock/sandy" soil, with a drip irrigation. At 18 months it is approximately 4 ft fall, 5-6 feet wide.
I would really appreciate if someone could help with identification if this plant.

I'd say Cochlospermum religiosum, but the leaves don't look right.

I believe it's Cassia closianna--definitely fits the evironment and drought hardiness, grown from seed too.
