Galbee, You are confusing it with the weed common Chinese elm around the place, especially near creeks. That weedy one is called Celtis chinensis. That's what happens with common names, but the one Sean says is also called common name Lacebark Elm.

Its commonly called a Lacebark Elm around Kansas.
