Default Lost post and reply

On Oct 25th I asked for help in getting an ID for a tree. very_sarcastic replied with an answer. I book marked the post as well as kept the link but now it has vanished and I do not know where to find the answer supplied. I guess I will repost the photo and ask for someone to respond once again so I can try to order one of these.

Here is the e-mail I got with the link.....

very_sarcastic has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Please ID Red Leaf with Gold seeds - in the Tree Identification | ID | Questions and Pictures forum of Tree World.

Try the search Forum tab near top right.

Or ask the administrator. He could help you the best.

I did that. I searched by my name, the date of the post, the name of the person who responed, as well as 3 or 4 other search topics. It is as if the question and answer never existed.

I do remember that thread. Weird!

If you were looking to hear the identification again, it's a sourwood.

Yes, we had a hosting server crash around 25 October, some pics and threads/posts were lost.

It is a sourwood, Oxydendrum arboreum (L.) DC., which is not native to MA. Sourwood is also known as lily-of-the-valley tree and thunderwood due to the wood explosively crackling in a fire (not to be confused with poison sumac that in some places is called thunderwood for other reasons). Sourwood is an excellent honey plant since a highly price monofloral honey is produced.

Thanks. I will wait for spring and see about ordering one online. It is an amazing tree I would love to have.
