I can not help with your I.D but I have some I need I.D

Here they are, both were removed from a fig in Nth Sydney.



This group was above the white bracket.

The top most image...Auricularia polytricha (there are some synonyms)

The lower image...very hard to say the pic is too indistinct, sorry a lot of different species have that appearance...Laetiporus portentosus maybe?

the brown one attached to the ficus, i know it as 'mouse ear'. thats all i know about it apart from being edible but not very tasty. came across it in NZ.

You are right about it not being all that tasty from fresh...however if dried it can be acceptable in asian soups or similar.....however DO NOT eat any wild fungi unless you are absolutely certain of the ID and that it is edible!

Wood ear is prity common in Nz on dead wood and rooting tree material... Tastes like woody rubber
