Good day. I have found this forum while trying to find a safe tree, to build a stand for my African grey parrot. I found some stems and branches near my street, that some city workers have cut down. I really need your help to find out what kind of tree is it, so i will know if it's safe for my parrot. hope you can help me out. http://www.treeworld.info/attachment...1&d=1323199228 http://www.treeworld.info/attachment...1&d=1323199228 http://www.treeworld.info/attachment...1&d=1323199228 also if it helps, i live in Israel. |

A very long shot here. Could be Tipuana tipu or even Albizia. But I am not familiar with Robinia, Tree of Heaven, Honey Locust etc, you need to check those all out.

It could possibly be a species of Acacia.

Even tough the pic with the leafs is a little too dark, I have saw that left formation before in town street type trees but, I can't recall the tree name. When I then realised that you are in Israel, I wonder if it could be the same species to start with so, not knowing if is a native to your country or not, I would suggest you to do a search on the native tree species of your country and then reduce the search to the area you are in. If is a introduced species then, can be one hell of a job to identify it...! Good luck...! Cheers George |

I'v been told the tree is an Delonix regia. unfortunately it's not on the "good trees" list, and not on the "bad trees" list. I found some lemon tree that is perfect. I want to thank everybody here for taking the time to help me out. |

You probably need to show a scale for the leaves - it doesnt look like Delonix from that picture - put something next to the leaves to show their true size. Albizia has chocolate coloured heartwood.
