Default Help in tree ID in Austin, TX

We moved in last summer and our builder already had trees and shrubs planted, but when we got around recently to asking what they are they have no clue.

We have about 5 different specimens I'd like identified and listing them in separate posts:

This one is planted about 2 feet from our foundation, so I am highly interested in identifying it to ensure it won't threaten the house. We think its a Crepe Myrtle, but we aren't positive. In the trunks pictures, the darker trunks are newer shoots than the lighter colored ones and match the color on the new branches off of the old trunk. The leaf is just under 2 inches long, but they vary in size from an inch to over 2 inches. their are 5 main veins on each side from the middle vein, they are alternating. The leafs are also alternating from the branch. We think its a Crepe Myrtle, but not positive.

Here are the groups of pictures for this tree

Yes, I think your right Crepe M are nice usually small trees unlikely to give to much grief to your home.
