Default Help with NJ tree identification

This tree is growing in a woodsy area next to my apartment complex. When we finish building our house, I would like to have some of these, as it reminds me of a palm tree. Can anyone help me identify it?

The first link worked for me!

It looks like it's Tree-of-Heaven (Ailanthus altissima)
However, it could also be a Sumac.

Careful though, Tree-of-Heaven is considered invasive in many places.

To verify it is Ailanthus, rip a few leaves off, crush them in your hands, and if you smell a bitter, Reese's peanut butter cup kind of smell, it's Tree-of-Heaven. If it doesn't smell like that, or it just has a leafy green smell, my guess is Sumac.

Hope that helps!

It looks like Tree of Heaven - if the edges of the leaflets are smooth, except for one "tooth" at base of leaf with a pimple like growth on the leaf, it will be tree of heaven. If the leaflets have toothed edges, most likely sumac.
