Default Help me identify this tree please

Hi,
I live in the SF Bay Area in California. I have this tree in my backyard and do not know what it is. This leaves stay green year round and it only drops a few.
Please help me identify my tree.
Thank you in advance

It certainly looks like it. Probably came courtesy of a bird's droppings.

Privet has its pluses. Nice hedge, hardy to a lot of sites, minimal maintenance, flowers (scent) tend to attract the girls, the fruit can be used for cardiovascular health, keeps the economy moving with repeat business. Sounds to me like it is worth keeping.

i rarely consider that fact. i usually include grinding in the removal cost or paint stumps with poison.

I imagine you include grinding because the stump is small. Surely large stumps aren't so free? And poisoning stumps leads to poisoning of the water runoff -- this gets back to the drinking water. Shouldn't poisons be used less often?

We spray the stumps with Glyphosate this becomes innert once it hits the soil, it is also species specific, it kills the plant by destroying the magnesium in the plant.
the magnesium is used to bind the nitrogen molecules when the plant photosynthesises glyphosate stops this process thats why the plant turns yellow then dies, it essentially starves the plant.
so unless you are a plant glyphoste is safe ish to humans.
