Default Help identifying these trees

Hello

I need help identifying these two trees which are located in Sydney, Australia.

The first tree is about 20m tall with a very wide tree cover. The tree has small leaves with jagged edges (see pic).

The second tree is some sort of pine tree. Which species is this?

Thank you.

The second tree looks like either a Pinus sylvestris or a Pinus densiflora, I would need to see buds to confirm. Ill get back to you on the first tree, Ive seen one in South Africa I think so would need to back track on my Ident folder.

Just did a google search and I think the leaves from the first tree is not from a Fagus sylvatica.

Regarding the pine tree, initially I thought maybe it could be a Pinus radiata? I will see if I can get more detailed pictures. Why I think it may not be a Pinus sylvestris is because the pine cones don't appear to be as pointy as a Pinus sylvestris?

Thanks.

Ye, its definately not a Fagus, its also not a radiata, Sylvestris cone are more pointy in the younger years. but as the tree mature they round out. Radiata are short and squat.

The first looks like a Zelkova, either serrata or carpinifolia. It's hard to tell which pine from the photos.

The first one looks like Ulmus parvifolia.

The second one could definitely be Pinus radiata as you say, they are all over the place in Sydney. Have you spotted any Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos in the tree?!

I thought Pinus radiata was a three needled pine, and the pic looks like 5 needles per cluster. How long are the needles?
Ulmus parvifolia is a possibility. What are the dimensions of the leaves? Do you have any pics of the fruit?

The needles are about 8 cm in length.

About the other tree, I don't see any fruit on it (not now anyway). The leaves certainly look like Ulmus parvifolia, but its lacking those little green leaves? The size of the leaves on this tree are about 5cm long and 3cm at its widest point.

Also, the little 'green leaves' are the fruits developing.
