Default Help Identifying this plant in the Kimberley, Western Australia

G'day, I'd love any help someone can give me identifying this plant about 300km inland from Broome, Western Australia,

Have attached some pics

Hard to tell from the photo's but it looks like a wattle and mistletoe.

Try looking up Eucalyptus forrestiana (Fuschia Gum) kinda similar

Nup nothin ya got me freaky WA fruits. HA try eatin one the Poison information hot line may be able to tell ya by your illness symptoms then

actually i think i might be answering my own post, but after a bit of research i think it's a juvenile boab (Adansonia gregorii). Thanks for the replies anyway!

Hi Muddy99,

It looks like Cochlospermum fraseri (Kapok Bush).

Do you know whether it has yellow flowers?

Also the capsules usually turn brown when ripe. They split open to release the seeds which are covered in cotton wool.

Hi Bernard,

you're spot on, I enlarged my hi-res version of the photo, and there's a half-open pod with the tell-tale "cotton wool" - just like in this photo

I only saw it the once, at Inglis Gap on the Gibb River Rd.
