we have these trees all over my property in Anoka County, MN (just north of the Twin Cities) we have 5.5 acres of sandy pasture and old woodlands. they woodland areas are overgrown and these trees are all well over 50 feet tall and have very thick trunks. The branches are long and stretch out in all different directions, sometimes causing the tree to lean sideways. Are these boxelder trees? I picked these today, May 8th.

I suppose boxelder is possible, but post a pic when the leaves are fully out and lay them flat -- boxelder has a compound leaf typically 5-7 leaflets, so keep all leaflets as the whole leaf when you post. It also has opposite branching.
