Default Beautiful Unknown

Hi All, This is a tree I found on the roadside and transplanted in my yard. At the time it was about a foot tall. Winter time it died down except for a small stick. This is how much it has grown this year! It has leaves almost 2 ft wide and are velvet to the touch and a little sticky. Some one suggested it might be an elephant ear tree, but all the pictures I have seen are pointy leaves these are like big round hearts. I would like to know what it is and how to take care of it. pruning etc... I live in Alabama. USAhttp://www.treeworld.info/attachment...1&d=1217956497

Might not be a tree at all.

Looks a lot like the Hoha Santa (Piper auritum) - the "root beer" plant.

The leaves have not dropped off, it is putting out more limbs and the leaves are on the ends of the limbs, as the limb grows out the leaves get bigger and bigger. It is not a root beer plant I googled it and saw a picture. I'm going to take a couple more pictures to see if that will help .Beautiful Unknown-unknown-tree-004.jpg

Suggestion from an amateur, & I mean AMATEUR, is it a Paulowinia?, remember seeing them grow like crazy, had large leaves.

Not a bad guess Bill, that's what I was thinking but couldn't find a good picture of a leaf.
A guy made a killing here some years back selling them as "Mothers Day Trees" but he called them something starting with Y. He was only around for a few weeks & sold heaps of them, I had to remove some after the mothers got sick of the leaves, BIG.

I had a look at the pic. in the WIKIPEDIA this morning, looks very similiar, could be spelt 'PAULOWNIA' to be correct.

Thanks Thats what it is, Thanks for the website. I googled it and one website said that it is the least wanted trees around, made me a little scared because it said that they had millions & millions of seeds, but I still want to keep it a while longer, maybe till it blooms anyway, I live by some fields soybean & cotton, I could just see them comming up all over the place in those fields!!!
