Tree Machine

Thanks for the invite
. If you visit our store you will find that NOT ALL of our products are listed yet. We had some downtime at the begining of the year due to our american host site being crippled by malicious attackes which took out 1000's of website which google and others are still reporting.

I am an IT person at hearts with 35 years in the industry but purchased our property and a Lewisaw in 1996. We have 100 acres 70 being what we call here natural regrowth. About 17 varieties of aussie hardwoods. We are located 1/2 way between Sydney and Brisbane near a small town of Bellingen which at the moment is a natural disaster area due to the resent floods. Our property managed 490mm and upriver recorded 650mm in a 12hr period.

The reason for buying the EcoSaw company was to promote and preach sustainable forestry and after buying the company found a need for forestry equipment as well.

We started with the Lewisaw now called the EcoSaw Classic. This is the mill shown in the picture in Papua New Guinea in first post. This mill has an 18hp petrol and can mill 1.5m x 6.4m logs. The PRO is the same just with a 30hp Kohler engine. This model is restricted to those who can show me their skills.

The most popular mill is the EcoSaw Compact. Lightweight endframes but still uses the same blade and milling head as the Classic just reduced weight and power to 13hp. Can mill 1m x 4m logs. Very portable for a single person and will still nock out 400bf per hour. You can also upgrade this to any of the other mills.

For chainsaws we have a cradle to take any size chainsaw in any configuration as well as horizontal or vertically mounted. These can also be upgraded to petrol or hydraulic drive and run on our standard mill setup or a monorail version. Unlike the Alaskan type chainsaw mill our setup hangs above the log so you can line up the mill to the cut you want not the log. One of the best cuts is a tapered (diagonal) slab giving you an oval slab with natural edge all the way round. This is an extramly stable slab so can be milled thinner than normal typically getting 100 almost identical slabs out of a log instead of the normal 4 or 5 bood ones.

From the chainsaw mill we developed a slabbing bandsaw. Runs on the monorail but uses a 50mm band with tungsten tipped skipp tooth band. This band works very well in australian hardwoods. The wheels on this mill are 630mm diameter with a cutting area of 800mm x 275mm.

Because this worked so well we have also produced two bandsaws for the entry level manual milling. One is a hobbie mill with a 6.7hp engine, 100mm x400mm cutting area and uses 0,5" to 1,1/8" bandsaws. The other is built the same but uses the larger wheels and has a 650mm x 300mm cutting area.

We also produce log handling equipment which can be used on anyone mill.

These are log rollers (cant hooks). Ours are the only adjustable ones made. Log Sissors for lifting logs, and Log Arches for off-road and legal on-road one.

Log Lathes for indexed Radial Milling as well as profile milling (round or shapped logs), Log infeed systems for swingmills which could be adapted to bandmills. Log rolling cradles for split post production

We also have a green molding mill which takes thinnings in one end and passes them through the 4 to 8 heads either giving you boards out the other end or molded poles / posts.

and the big one is a 'Relocatable mill'. This is designed for plantation timber and is a five person mill. Logs upto 450mm in one end and rough sawn timber out the other. Uses a 160hp Perkins diesel engine, a twin edger (for breakdown) a single main bench saw and a 6 blade multi saw. This is an 8ton truck trailer. I have no idea of softwood production but the softer aussie hardwoods get 30 cubic meters per day (12,750 bf approx).

We are also now supplying a small firewood processor similar to the SuperAxe (but different) and a light commercial trailer based unit powered with 65hp and a production rate of at least 5 tons of aussie hardwoods per hour.

I most likely have foggotten something but we do produce one off milling equipment as well so its sometimes difficult to say which is products or not.

thanks

Default EcoSaw - NEW SWINGMILL

I guess I should also mention the development of the EcoSaw SuperMill.

The mill looks the same as the Classic and Compact but on steriods.

For safety this mill has been made only with hydraulic power to remove the operator from the milling head itself.

We are using one of our 65hp diesel engines and a 30" blade swinging through 180degrees.

This will give a 315mm (12.5") deep cut or 630mm (25") using our built in backcut technology.

Rails are very heavy duty and come in 6m,9m,12m and 15m lengths and log sizes rail length minum 2m and 2m diameter.

The mill appears to be safe but I am not putting this one on our product list just yet. End of milling season most likely.

Bill

We use our own spec oil for bar loob and water for cooling and removal of sawdust. I find the chain running at the speed it does leaves a lot behind.

This is a FULL EcoSaw Classic onboard. will mill 6.4m x 1.5m log. The EcoSaw Compact and Monorail are considerably smaller although the rails tend to be 6m on average.

Gulf Western mix the oil for us and sell it themselves throuhg many outlets. They only do the one so it should be easy to order if your local agent does not stock it. Comes in 5lt, 20lt and 205lt. We tend to sell the 20 and 205 only although I am looking at 0,5 and 1lt bottles for general sale. Its not cheep but in my opinion I consider it to be one of the best. Extra sticky.
