| Online Seminars has an article called "Genetic Engineering in the Forest". It is available for reading at the website during March and April. on-line-seminars.com - Genetic Engineering I have a hard time with this concept right now. I do like the cloning process. Is the acceptance of cloning any different than the acceptance of Genetic Engineering?

| why not?? think of all the additives and preservatives and multitudes of chemical compounds that one comes in contact with and even ingests in the course of a day let alone the course of month or even a year.? look at at all the adverse effect that many of them end up having on us and our surroundings yet in the end people are living longer and their options for survival are much more diverse. natural selection could take years upon years before it even begins to transpire. then consider the fact that the outcome of natures trials and errors are not always going to be we humans want. they may favor the underdog in the enviroment like the blight or the beatle. if we can skip threw all of the "failures" of natures and promote plants with traits more desirable to"our" needs then maybe we will be able to spend less time and money trying to save the plants and more time trying to figure out how to utilize the vast quantity of them. yeah there may be adverse effects that come forth through out all this but as it stands there are adverse effects now and they dont come with any upside. |

| The sad part is the fact that the gap between the "do it" and the "don't do it" people has NEVER began to close. As a matter of fact I believe the think tank ran dry with the release of the computer. The exception might be DNA profiling Sorry Len I have to disagree with the cloning option. What would the world do with two of me? ![]()
