Well for me, I wish I had my Father's old Strunk. It was either a Custom Pro, or a Big Timber Pro, because these were the only two models, that were equipped with a 30" Bar, and Dad's had a 30" Bar. In 1974, when I was 7 or 8, Dad got rid of it, because he could no longer get Carburetor Parts for it. The Carburetor needed Diaphragms, and the Carburetor was Obsolete, and there were no Parts for it. .I have recently picked up a Strunk Busy Beaver, from a Friend in the States, that sent me this Chain Saw, in appreciation for finding him a few Chain Saws for his Collection, at a Local Small Engine Repair Shop, that I have recently found a few Months ago. .I've always wanted a Strunk Chain Saw ever since, and now I have one. . Having one here on the Farm again, kind of brings back a lot of other Memories of being in our Bush, with my Dad . Bruce.

I have to put a new Fuel Line inside the Fuel Tank. The Diaphragms in the Carburetor were pretty Stiff, but I think I got them loosened up, by Soaking them in Pain Thinner. I have No Idea how many CC's this Chain Saw will have. As for the McCulloch Chain Saws being Jealous of the Strunk, I have three Stihl Chain Saws here also, and I have one rule, they all must play nice together. ![]() ![]() , or . Bruce.

I'd like a new 200T to replace my old one, which is currently giving me constant troubles...I cant even get it to start right now even though it's getting spark and fuel...(wtf...) And... either a 441 or a 660. I'm leaning towards the 660 but dont have the $$$ to put out for that right now. An 090 would be nice! Dang! You can cut anything with that like a hot knife through butter! Only other one I'd like to pick up now is the HT (HP?) 75 polesaw with the stihl chainsaw on the end. |

Strunk! You've got me. First time I've heard of 'em after nearly 50 years playing with saws. Looks kinda like an old Homelite.

The Ht 131 is the same as a 200t on a stick. mine never bogs down ever. I would pay twice what its worth and I think it is by far my best investment.

I'm a little leary of ebay says.... I got my 200T off ebay. only paid $250 for it but had to put $150 into it as soon as I got it. The page said "only been used on 3 trees since it was new". The only way that could be true is if it was used to cut up 3 entire redwoods by itself. LOL The 200T on a pole sounds like a good workin saw though. I'll have to check one out. |

I hear what your saying Therrin, i got a 200t with a perished fuel line. It ended up arriving with a perished fuel line, stuffed clutch, scored piston, stuffed cover, and the choke linkage had been incorrectly put back in. For any tool that i need for run my business i've learnt you get what you pay for. Ill save my pennies next time

Exactly what I meant... they can advertise as they wish but once its yours, its yours. Ya know... I'd really like to try a Husky... I love my Stihls to death but I've never even used a Husky before. It'd be nice to become familiar with the way they operate and their differences. What's a good small to medium sized Husky to start with? Something like a backup saw or a good saw for doing ground work. |

A husqv 460xp is an nice saw to start with . I run a 24'' bar on mine and climb with it on my saddle when chunkin out spars. You can get one for around 400 bucks.I have beat the livin snot out of mine for 4 years now and it keeps sayin " DIDN'T HURT". Huskies are lighter than Stihl , more plastic and easier on the back, especially when you leaning out. Huskies have that "Husqvarna whine " that is unmistakable. I like running a .058 bar and chain on mine and file rakers down to .040''. It bounces a touch at first contact , but when she starts diggin , LOOK OUT cut:. I got places in my business for both Stihl and Husky. IMO neither one can completely replace the other. Oh , and by the way the 460xp is the biggest mid-sized saw before you step up to the big boys , the next one I beleive is a 575xp and Thats about $150 more. The 460 has 3.7 hp @ 60cc.

What's just a step down from the 460xp, that is still a professional use saw?

The Next saw down would be the 455 rancher (equiv of Stihl Farm boss). The 460 is the "big bro" to the 455, just bigger displacment. It has two throtle jets on the carb and runs a 24'' bar pretty good. Its 's unstoppable with a 20'' bar. Husqvarna's air intake technology puts Stihl to shame, the air box is on top and, welll , you''re not always havin to clean out the air filter like you do on a Stihl.

In regards to the HT 101 versus th HT 131, dont waste your money on the 101. the 131 is SOOOOO much better. I chunk out 12'' spars from a bucket faster and safer than with a top handle. It's got 1.9 HP and is 16.5 lbs and reaches 16' from the ground ,but I can actually get 18' by taking it over head . I even use it on dead trees , keeps my ass out of "hairy situations". IMO, most valuable saw I have.
