Google Ashokan Turf and Timber in NY State. Ask for Bob, tell him I sent ya. About $450.00. Make sure you get one with a non-catalytic muffler.

Then send it out and get it ported. My latest saw is pulling about 5.5 hp...well, anyhow it cuts 54% faster than stock.

Right here in Ohio the last 2 NE 346 I picked up was $395-$400 and $415 a few months later after the new year 2010. Prices before Ohio taxes added and I bought without the laminated 18" 325 bar and chains. I just didnt want them I run 16" 3/8.

The best I'm finding so far is $450 shipped, if anyone can beat that let me know where to send the money.

$450 with bar and chain and shipped , you better say done deal and get it shipped and hope it dont come with a green gas cap . JMO

Here is my old 45cc 346, the new ones are 50cc. It is running a very rich 13.8K making some test cuts with 3/8 050 7T rim stock stihl RS chain out of box with a few test cuts on it.

Explain to me the choices in this saw please. I guess there is an older model to avoid with green cap and a catalytic converter? What is the model with the "triple brake" or whatever its called ??? The new edition NE is the model I would want, no catalytic converter, right?

Older model didnt have all the BS, so your info is wrong.

The NE comes with T-brake and a green cap and cad muffler one and then one that right one IMO with the grey cap and reg muffler like the 2 I bought. All NE have silver clutch cover YUK!

The older 45cc was lighter and orange clutch cover and no BS about cad mufflers etc .

Buy your 346XPNE in Canada and you won't have to worry about a green cap. But it will cost you more in Canada though.
Jeez I just noticed the US and Canadian $ are neck and neck now.

Willard.

Has been for a few years. I was buying a used saw up there last year or year before and the exchange rate was in Canadians favor during that purchase for the first time I seen .

Sorry genius, let me give you an education since your obviously still "misinformed". The Husqvarna 346xp (New Edition) is available with a TrioBrake and without. Now follow me here...the "E Tech" is the "reduced emissions model" (E Tech-Emissions, how clever, huh) displaying a green cap. All current 346xp saws are now 50.1cc. Your "CAD" is actually "CAT" for the abbreviation "catalytic". And I asked "YOU" for help, wow...Sounds like something was in your hands but not the saw.

And what you stated above is what I already told you in a previous post. So why are you repeating it to me, you genius.

cuttin,
you original post did not have the numbers. you edited the quote and added numbers to make it more readable. i had to re-read your original post several times to understand what you were saying.....yes, you are right..................................................................................................to the OP, don't focus on price so much.service should play a major part in the decision. $450 shipped with a bar is a very good price. you will love the saw...insist on a non-cat model. they are still available with a little searching. the dealer in NY is a great place to start. they are very knowledgeable and customer friendly........at the minimum you should mod the (non-cat) muffler and put a non-limited coil on the saw. just by rough estimates i am guessing that is good for about 4.0-4.4hp from the saw (when i MM my first one, it would cut with a 361 all day long in 10" wood). a port will add another .75-1hp. i have two that i ported. they are nasty little saws when they are done-up right!!!!

I took for granted everyone knew what NE new and OE older 346 was. Guess that was my bad.

Yeah I figured I had to idiot proof my original post and re-post it so even could understand.

Then in the post before that my pics didnt show up either so that didnt help. I got 3 cubes overflowing and someone thinks I .

It really depends on what you are wanting and going to use it for. JMO. Porting is measured on a yard stick IMHO.
You have one end that not much more then a little widening here there and muffler mod and on other end all out wild woods porting to work and cut cookies at a gtg. You just need to know and be honest on what you are going to do with the saw and then match what you want done somewhere in between maybe.

Over here, the cat mufflers have alway been an option (on both the 45cc and 50cc ones), that is up to the buyer to want or not - and very few does! You even have to pay extra for it!

Default Husqvarna 346XP is Hard to Beat!

Lately all the 346s' coming into my dealer have been non-cat. Hopfully this will continue.

I just bought my second, two weeks ago
