You need to set your PM feature. Click on the UserCP button, then Edit Options, and then click on the Enable Private Messaging button.

I think what you are seeing on the R-50 is it dont blend with alcohol, which I think means methanol alcohol. Because the 100 and 200 mixes with such and the R-50 dont. I know guys that use the R-50 for their work saws with no problems and it is suppose to have some anti-corrosive agent for long time storage. I have never used it myself. 200 and 100 = Compatibility: Blends with BēNOL® castor oil, Super TechniPlate, gasoline, methanol alcohol, nitromethane and stays in suspension. Hi Cut4fun. I was refering to the Klotz web site where they are selling the R50 Klotz Products Ethanol and Alcohol, are in the same category with added oxygen. That warning in bold letters that it is not compatible with alcohol would concern me using an ethanol blended gas. Am I wrong here and just overconcerned? I had looked at the tech sheets earlier and they show a much higher flash point than kl200 and unlimited rpm. There is a lot of praise for that oil from those that race. Thanks for any help in this area. Bill |

Thats a new one on me, never seen it in print like that. Not alcohol compatible. Before it said methanol alcohol . I would be calling this number to find out from a Klotz tech if I was you and let us know what you find out, please. Tech 260 490 0489 |

I had to know and I called. The R-50 is ok to be used with e-10 but not recommended and e-15 is pushing the limits he said. He also recommends R-50 to be used with race gas or pure gas only for best results. 100 and 200 can be used in the e-85 or any gas out there up to 100% like I knew already. Dont know anyone that would do that though. |

Thanks for calling Cut4fun. I think we have both learned a little something. Too bad the epa and ethanol are mandating that we may have to modify things ourselves to keep our engines running. I think that it would probably be better to use the KL200 - don't you? May have to look into what Windthrown is using - Elf. I have not found that around yet either. Oh well. Bill |

If you do a lot of cutting in the heat of TX. You might want to look at the 100 also. You cant beat the protection of the 80%/20% Castrol oil blend the tech said. But it dont do well in extreme cold weather. I use both, so buy each and try them. |

Thanks for your help in this matter. I think I will skip R50 and use either KL200 or KL100 too. Have to modify the 361 a little and retune it. Bill |

OK, for my 1,000 post on TW: I know that many have seen the Lakeside brazed/welded 361 muffler pipe mod, and others have seen the Wojo tube welded mod. Here is Trigger-Time's Hillbilly 361 muffler mod. It is the one I used. It only takes a cutting wheel on a Dremel and no welding is required. Once the slits are cut, use a screwdriver to lever open the slits into gills. Here is a photo of the finished cut. Note that the gills are bent so that the exhaust if deflected forward. ![]() The above mod works fine alone, just remember to remove the limiter tabs on the carb and reset it to run rich, as more air flow will open this saw up. Also this mod does not have a spark screen and will be busted in summer cutting season in this state during fire control. |

To augment the above mod you can add a screen and deflector cover. The best parts for this are from Husky (of all places). The Husqvarna part numbers are: Baffle: 503 07 83-01 Spark screen: 503 40 56-01 Screws: 503 21 90-08 Here is an illustration of how to assemble the parts: |

Here is the inside of a stock decrimped 361 muffler. These are basically choked up to death. The exhaust gasses flow into the baffle in the middle, though the holes of the baffle and into the muffler cavity. There they flow through the screen and are squeezed out the tube to the left through a hole in the back cover. |

Husky deflector one is the one I have been using for 4-5 years now. Works on them all.

Enough hand holding, OK? This is why Lakeside left AS. People wanted him to resolve all their problems, and kept asking more and more and more questions to the point that he screamed and bailed. Take the plunge. Get 'er done.

Yes sometimes the self starting screws will back out and get lost. Heck that even happens on the stihl oem dp covers. Homemade 084 DP cover using husky deflector. ![]() ![]() Dolmar 6400 -7900 DP with husky deflector. ![]() |

....but skip the spark screen, if it isn't needed where you cut! Even just removing the original spark screen probably will make some difference on a stock US saw - it is the only difference I can see between the Euro and the US muffler - but I haven't opened them, just looked into them trough the rear end.
