I am looking at replacing a bar tip nose on a Stihl ES... 3/8 .050 , I have seen tips stamped with H2 and H3 but unable to find what those stampings mean. Appreciate a little insight. Thanks.

Those bars come in standard nose (11 tooth) and wide nose (13 tooth). How many teeth were on the old tip. I believe the bar is wider for the wide tip, as well. The last four digits of the bar's part number will begin with an 8 for the standard tip and 9 for the wide tip.

I know I have a 3/8 .050 11-tooth nose ... was just curious about the letter/number stamping and what it meant.
