Default Stihl chainsaw cover case

Gents,
I'm after a cover case for my recently acquired MS381, went to the stihl shop and they were asking $80 for a plastic case!!!

Or $15 for the chain cover.

I'm wondering what do you guys do, or use for ya toys.

I have about gave all my cases away. Stihl ones included gone. No cases for me, just bar covers.

I bought 43 bar covers the other day, Dolmar, Echo, Husky, Black plain, Stihl ones. Believe it or not I have a couple extras now.

I think I still have 2 top handle size cases left to give away to some lucky soul someday.

Personally I think the Stihl bar covers suck.

Echo for a smaller saw is great and Oregon is also good. Hard to find decent bar covers around the place, saw shops think they last forever.

I keep buying saws and the Stihl dealership keeps not having cases that fit to store them in. Apparently Stihl doesn't make cases for the 200T, or cases for saws with full wrap handles.

And yes, the Stihl barcovers SUCK!!!!

They slide on bleh, okay I guess. But when you go to slide them off, the cutters grab into the plastic and they get stuck. So you push them back through and then try to ease them off and they get stuck again while you're pulling, then give all at once and you slice your hand open on a cutter.
I think I've been cut more taking bar covers off my saws than I have doing anything else with them.
The tool holders built into some of the bar covers are also a joke. One good bump and your tool falls out.

I was tempted to build a wooden case, for the side of the house, to store my saws in just to keep them out of the weather when not in use. But then I found this really sweet plastic outdoor container at the local Lowe's DIY hardware store. I'll go take pictures really quick.

I gave up on bar covers. Same as Therrin, sliced the palm of my hand fighting to remove the bar cover, after that, I just started the chain saw up, with the bar cover off, and watched it fly through the air, ended that fight.
I built a carry box/work bench, that I can carry around with my tractor, with the front end loader, or the fork lift, on the back of my biggest tractor, that I use as my skidder, for tree tops, and wind fell trees, with all of my chain saws, tool box, and gas/oil mix, and bar oil, jerry cans.
I have three slideing drawers, that I built, to hold two chain saws each, in two of them, and four in the other drawer, with my axes, helment, and chain saw chaps, are stored in it as well.
One day, I'm going to get it finished, and all enclosed in, with locks on it, that way I won't have to worry about someone walking off with a chain saw, or two, or eight, LOL.
Once I get my computer back (crashed big time three weeks ago, and working with a borrowed one), and reprogramed, for my camera, and saved picture disc, I'll post some pictures of it here. Bruce
